Job Description : CFO CANADA Prodigy Group is in search of a Chief Financial Officer with experience within the Construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. They will collaborate with the Managing Partners and the executive team to make decisions regarding company's financial strategy and operations. The candidate will possess a strong background in finance and management. The Chief Financial Officer reports to the Managing Partners Prodigy Group is a North American construction management firm based in Toronto, Canada, with offices in Vancouver, Montreal and Chicago. We specialize in Institutional, Retail, Hospitality and Corporate construction, with a focus on the North American market As a company with strong principles, we strive to infuse integrity and accountability into the construction and rollout industry. Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will demonstrate trust, evidence of a team orientation and able to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall accounting functions that encompasses the following: Lead the finance and accounting team Cashflow, AP and AR Internal monthly financial reporting and year end reporting Monthly and annual tax compliance (payroll, HST, QST, corporate taxes) Financial control to avoid error, fraud, and theft Curate relationships with advisors, accountants, and legal team Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA is strongly preferred. 15+ years’ experience in accounting 10+ years’ experience in the construction industry Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role Areas of expertise to include financial and cost accounting, cash management, financial and resource planning systems, and tax compliance Ability to lead and operate within a constantly changing environment (growing firm) Experience with hiring, mentoring, training, and retaining a focused team Strong leadership capability, ability to manage and delegate with high performing teams Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, handle unpredictability with confidence and succeed in a dynamic business environment Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Advanced interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Strong understanding of accounting software; Timberline, Procore, etc.
