Engineering and Tooling Manager

Job Description : ENGINEERING AND TOOLING MANAGER MALAYSIA An established metal parts manufacturer is seeking an Engineering & Tooling Manager (Metal Stamping) to lead a team of Engineers, Designers, and Toolmakers to build new business opportunities in SEA countries, designing tooling, and managing production activities. In this job, you will report to the Engineering Director. In this position, you will play a key role in the manufacturing team's continued development and success, new product management, and supporting essential activities to meet market expectations. Handling the engineering department that is responsible for planning and coordinating activities to meet company objectives of cost, delivery, and quality Upgrading technical staff in terms of skills and knowledge to improve tooling design and fabrication capabilities Leading and driving manufacturing excellence by working with various functional leads, to ensure engineering capability meets/exceeds manufacturing requirements/standards in order to deliver quality products Rendering support to the sales team and activities to meet/exceed customer expectations Monitoring the quotation Hit Rate and analysing the reasons for the hits and misses and improving the Hit Rate Setting up ABOM for new or modified parts and ensuring that they are in line with the related costing information used in quotations Ensuring all subordinates comply with the environmental legal/regulatory requirements must have at least three years of experience as an engineering departmental head in a metal stamping or manufacturing company. Degree or diploma in manufacturing/mechanical engineering or any relevant technical background At least 10 years of experience in precision metal stamping and big format metal part (aluminium, stainless steel, copper and nickel material) Minimum of five years of management experience Knowledge in AutoCAD, tooling fabrication, GD&T especially in automotive and electronic metal casing and metal component Familiar with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) for metal parts, plastic parts and sub-assembly Good understanding of CP, CPK, FMEA, and PPAP Experience in automation on process handling equipment for stamping process and assembly
