Job Description : Airport Civil Engineer: NIGERIA Job Role: · Study and analyze maps, survey reports, project specifications and blueprints · Analyze geotechnical and soil investigation information/reports · Collect and test soil samples to determine the strength of soil used for a foundation · Use mathematical models to compute various requirements, including load, stress factors and other structural requirements · Project monitoring, contract management, Quality control · Prepare construction schedule · Provide feedback on progress of construction work · Development of feasible, logical, and efficient work phasing proposals · Supervise airport construction work and monitor adherence to Project Schedule · Planning of resources like money, manpower & material resources. · Participate in creation of Aerodrome Manual, Airport Emergency Plan etc. · Engagement and management of construction contractors · Review government standards and ensure that construction is compliant with building codes, and other government regulations · Consider costs and quantities of material, equipment, and labour to prepare cost estimates for the contractor payments · Directing or participating in surveys within the process of laying out installations; establishing reference points, elevations, and grades to guide construction · Prepare completion certificates and project closing documents KEY RESULT AREAS: · Follow Airport construction schedule · Advise on requirement of any changes in construction schedule · Advise on quality of work · Identify areas for cost control · Attend project review meetings · Provide feedback about performance of vendors/contractors · Compliance to the Safety Management System · Inspection and control over construction activities · Implementation of policy decisions issued by Management SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: · Ability to supervise and execute airpot construction · Ability to establish and maintain good work relationships with Government Officials and employees · Knowledge of AutoCAD and other computerized design software · Experience and knowledge of design, construction, operation, and maintenance of airport facilities including terminals, hangers, airfield lighting, water systems, sewerage, airport roadway systems, ground transportation, control systems, fueling systems, runways, and taxiways · Good command with engineering drawing and contractual documents · Graduate/Postgraduate-Civil Engineering · 20-25 years of experience in handling airport operations and maintenance Preferred · Exposure to infrastructure development projects at an airport
