15 yearsJob Description : PRODUCTION MANAGER Mississauga, Ontario plant. The Production Manager directs and coordinates activities of production department(s), applying knowledge of production methods, equipment, and capability of workers. Confers with management personnel to establish production and QC standards. Plans and directs production activities and establish priorities in keeping with effective operations. Essential Duties: 1. Plans and organizes production activities, meeting budgeted standards, acceptable quality & scheduled outputs. Reports to Plant Manager any major concerns/variances with related causes. 2. Schedules production on all 3 shifts based on the weekly production schedule. 3. Directs and ensure that Production employees receive established training in the maintenance of a safe, efficient and quality operation. Audit back shifts for the same. 4. Ensures product quality on all operating processes. 5. Coordinates inter-shift procedures and communication ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. Audit performance of shifts through a review of production activity reports. 6. Maintains plant cleanliness and housekeeping at the accepted levels. 7. Initiates reviews of processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and turn times while maintaining high industry standards of quality and safety. 8. Ensures all work performed is in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, company requirements and those required by customer contracts. 9. Assists in updating and/or creating new operating procedures, job descriptions, training and on-line inspection procedures and checklists, as necessary for Production. 10. Maintains plant security procedures. 11. Maintains high level of personal safety and no lost time in conjunction with the enforcement of company safety policies. 12. Accounts for the conduct and performance of Production personnel and address employee-related problems in accordance with Company policies. 13. Provides pertinent data relating to employee change in status, hires, terminations, vacations, absenteeism etc. to the HR and Payroll. 14. Maintains good communication with QC, Purchasing, Shipping, Maintenance & HR dept. dept. to ensure good continuity. 15. Monitors efficiency and quality of operation, and of individual employee, providing direction to ensure Company specified Quality levels are understood. 16. Monitors and maintains proper reporting of hours and attendance by all Production employees. 17. Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, leadership and organizational, verbal & written communication skills. Minimum Qualifications: College or University graduate in Engineering, or equivalent. Expert working knowledge of production operation with strong abilities in the following areas: organization, mathematics, technical and administration. 15 years of experience in a senior supervisory capacity in the manufacturing of GMP regulated products or related fields.
