Finance Director

Job Description : FINANCE DIRECTOR SYDNEY AUSTRALIA The candidate will be responsible for helping execute on finance and other aspects of M&A opportunities, new organic growth strategies as well as a possible primary market listing in the next 12 months. Also expected are core skills around strategic and compliant financial management, accounting, tax and governance. The ideal candidate will have proven financial leadership experience and will have the ability to be a catalyst for change and a driver of providing financial leadership. Strong leadership skills, exceptional communication and deep expertise on current financial topics related to the capital markets and wealth management industry all sit within this remit. • Providing leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives • Making recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities • Proactively identify and drive efficiencies across the P&L, working with other business units to improve revenue and reduce expenses • Propose corrective action when necessary and prepare accurate forecasts that enable Exco to make informed decisions about investments or cuts • Control and evaluate the organisation's fundraising plans and capital structure • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organisation's operations • Manage, mentor and lead the Finance Function team • Prepare and maintain financial regulatory reporting, including monitoring daily liquidity and capital • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance of the finance function, including tax compliance and payroll • Drive financial planning processes and reliable forecasting reports • Ownership and accountability for finance IT systems • CA/CPA qualified with over 15 years' experience. • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MBA is a plus • Proven experience as a CFO, or relevant alternative • Knowledge of Financial services experience is essential • Experience in stockbroking, trading or wealth management would be highly regarded • Listed company experience also highly regarded • Ability to strategize and solve complex problems • Strong leadership and organizational skills • Excellent communication and people skills • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods • Proficient in the use of accounting and financial management software (e.g. Xero, Workday)
