Job Description : TRANSPORT AND OPERATIONS MANAGER ZAMBIA 15+ years experience East African experience mandatory Duties and reponsibilities include but are not subject to: Hiring, training, and supervising employees to ensure that they are following company policies and procedures Ensuring that all vehicles are in good working order and properly maintained Scheduling staff to ensure that vehicles are staffed according to established requirements Purchase materials, plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices Coordinating with other departments within an organization to ensure that transportation needs are met Investigating accidents to determine the cause of the accident and making recommendations for preventing similar accidents in the future Evaluating employee performance and recommending promotions or terminations as needed Ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and operated in accordance with laws and regulations – Insurance, Road tax, Fitness issues, etc., are complied with Ensure the optimum utilization of fleet/vehicle and human resource Be sensitive to the downtime and its impact on the bottom line of the company and able to think out of the box Examine and use financial data to improve profitability Reviewing and updating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations Conducting training programs to ensure that employees are familiar with their jobs and safe operating procedures Skills Excellent communication skills Leadership ability Outstanding organizational skills Experience in budgeting and forecasting will be an added advantage Degree in Business, Operations Management or related field Qualifications Proven work experience as Operations Manager or similar role Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management Familiarity with business and financial principles
