General Manager

Job Description : GM UAE a mining supply chain group, is looking for a Genral Manager to join thei tea Duties and responsibilities include but are not subject to: • Creating, communicating and implementing the organization's vision, mission, and overall direction. Leading the development and implementation of the overall organization's strategy • Liaising and communicating with Client, making decisions on procurement and logistics options in close collaboration with the client and the group’s executive team, as well presenting costing and demand planning suggestions to the client • Develop the required business strategies and their alignment with short and long-term Group objectives • Setting of annual budgets, targets and KPIs. Allocate required resources and report to the Board timeously on deviation from the planned results • Responsible for the overall profitability of the company. Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements if needed • Identify external & internal risks and mitigate them • Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics • Adapt and utilize technology and IT to achieve higher efficiency, accuracy, prompt communication, and better cost & revenue management • Oversee all day-to-day operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission of the company • Support the Directors with the development of operational strategies by studying industry best practices, technological and financial opportunities and producing advisory reports • Oversee weekly / monthly reporting on operational performance results and making changes where needed • Ensure that operational expenditures of the Company are within the authorized budget • Support with the development of Human Resources functions and working alongside HR team and management team to ensure implementation and compliance with HR policies & procedures • Leading and motivating subordinates to advance employee engagement and develop a high performing managerial team • Ensure that Health and Safety remains a key area of excellence throughout the organization • Deliver operational excellence by ensuring compliance with local and international certifications (such as ISO, ICMI etc.) and managing a fully integrated QMS • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies • Manage relationships with subcontractors / partners / suppliers / industry leaders • Any other job that may be given to the job holder by the Board Skills • Leadership skills to lead management and drive desired business growth through teamwork • Excellent planning and execution skills to implement strategies to meet/exceed the goals set by the board of directors • Excellent problem-solving skills and internal & external conflicts resolution skills • Ability to perform and achieve under adverse circumstances • Analytical and objective decision-making skills • Financial acumen • Strong commercial outlook • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Effective team leader, with the ability to build trust and loyalty amongst staff • Knowledgeable in Procurement, Supply Chain management, Transport, Warehousing and Forwarding Industry • Organized, accurate and detail oriented Qualifications • A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline • A minimum of fifteen (15) relevant years’ experience, ten (10) of which must be at a Senior management level • Sound experience in Procurement, Supply Chain management, Transport, Warehousing and Freight forwarding, ideally on project logistics • Experience in managing large, multi-cultural teams • Experience with large mining projects is advantageous • Experience in a senior capacity in South Asia, Africa or the Middle East is advantageous
