Job Description : CFO MAURITIUS an online service company that was launched in Mauritius about a decade ago. Since then, it has grown as the ultimate market leader in the e-commerce business. Controllership - Responsible for presenting and reporting accurate and timely historical financial information for strategic decision-making. All stakeholders in the company including shareholders, analysts, creditors, employees, and other members of management rely on the accuracy and timelines of this information. He/she will ensure preparation of monthly, quarterly Management Accounts, yearly Financial Statements, budgets and other financial reports. Treasury - Responsible for the company's present financial condition and cash flow, the CFO must decide how to invest the company's money, taking into consideration risk and liquidity. He/she will also oversee the capital structure of the company, determining the best mix of debt, equity, and internal financing. Addressing the issues surrounding capital structure is one of the most important duties of the CFO. Economic strategy and forecasting - Responsible for the company's past and present financial situation and an integral part of the company's financial future. The CFO must be able to identify and report what areas of a company are most efficient and how the company can capitalise on this information. This aspect of the CFO's duties also includes economic forecasting and modelling, i.e., trying to predict (given multiple scenarios) the best way to ensure the company's success in the future. The CFO plays a vital role in providing financial leadership and aligning business and finance strategy to grow the business. He/she also plays an integral role in supporting other long-term investments of the company. Operations - The CFO should possess a strong understanding of the company's business model and industry and be able to use this knowledge to provide an independent perspective and to constructively challenge the commercial and operations teams, ensuring that business decisions are grounded in solid financial criteria. She/she has to operate an efficient and effective finance department providing a variety of services to the business such as financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, and other finance operations. Compliance - Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory or other legal requirements. This includes: · Submission of monthly and yearly statutory returns relative to VAT, CSG & PAYE as prescribed by legislation. · Timely payment of utilities, licences and any other payments to relevant authorities. · Ensure the protection of vital assets and that these assets are insured as per company policy and/or as required by law. · Ensure completion of financial statements audit three months after year end. · Communicating value and risk issues to investors and boards. · Ensure adequate assessment and mitigation of risks. Leadership - the CFO will be a strong and effective business partner, and must have the necessary leadership and communication skills. He/she will: · Give advice and counsel as well as provide a voice of reason. · Stimulate and drive the timely execution of change in the finance function or the enterprise. · Drive business improvement initiatives such as improved enterprise cost reduction, procurement, pricing execution, and other process improvements and innovations that add value to the company. · Drive, motivate and empower the Finance and Accounting team. Fully qualified Accountant from a recognised body (ACCA, CIMA or ACA). Experience in a Senior Management role. Computer literate and versatile with accounting package. (MS Excel, other MS Office tools, Quickbooks). Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead effectively by demonstrating personal drive and strategic thinking. Strong personality and able to challenge and support all stakeholders. Excellent communication skills in English and French. Ability to understand business needs and communicate complex systems simply. Well-developed relationship building skills. Ability to set realistic expectations around deliverables. Resilient and thriving when working under pressure.
