Job Description : Technical Services Manager – Logistics – Tanzania Main requirements 1) History of managing large workshops and large fleets 2) Skills to create, draft and implement SOP where required 3) Procurement and store management understanding 4) Experience in TZ or east Africa will be good 5) SAP experience Job Function To provide direct assistance to the Technical Executive with regards to all aspects of fleet and maintenance, ensuring the effective achievement of group technical strategies. Key performance areas Maintenance of the central Workshop Management System (WMS) and central Tyre Management System (TMS) Develop and maintain meaningful monthly reports from the WMS and TMS to senior management, highlighting trends and actionable insights Coordinating group training on WMS and TMS Compilation of all required Group Technical periodic reporting, including data collection for group initiatives Periodically undertake inter business unit maintenance cost benchmarking Maintenance of the Group fleet asset register and master data Group fleet statistics and analysis Maintain an up-to-date fleet total cost of ownership database and conduct regular benchmarking Support business units to achieve performance improvement targets Ongoing refinement of best practice policies for maintenance and replacement of fleet and managing compliance thereof Continuous testing of new fleet on routes to evaluate performance and fuel consumption Coordinate driver training initiatives between OEM’s and business units Assisting in investigating and evaluating alternative fuel vehicles in line with group ESG strategy Managing fuel and lubricant testing initiatives Manage the M-Sure or similar warranty fund Conduct periodic internal workshop audits Liaison with key suppliers (OEM’s, tyre suppliers, etc.) and maintaining excellent relationships Key supplier contract management Ad-hoc fleet related projects and costing Staying abreast of global developments in the transport industry and implementing cost saving initiatives Secretary of Technical Committee (quarterly formal meetings) Support of any initiatives as undertaken by the executive leadership Technical due diligence on business acquisitions Manage a team of building maintenance employees Skills and experience required: Code B Driving License essential Computer literate with Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Essential) In-depth understanding of maintenance and tyre CPK’s (Essential) 20+ Years experience out of which 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar position (Beneficial)
