Business Unit Head

Education Qualifications : UG degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering; Master’s degree or equivalent additional experience preferred. Relevant Exp. : 25+ years of exp., with 7+ years in leadership roles at the function or business level in the sector.. Job purpose : Direct and implement business strategy and operating plan; and lead business operations to ensure achievement of organization objectives, enhanced profitability and business growth. Key Responsibilities : 1) Business Strategy & Execution - Coordinate with CMO office to lay down short term and long term strategy and execution plan for the business to deliver stakeholder value and maximize profitability. - Have regular meetings with strategy lead in CMO to identify and evaluate acquisitions and strategic alliances, and assess business growth opportunities; co-develop M&A, BD proposals. - Ensure development and periodic review of operating plan and growth targets for the business and obtain sign-off from the Group Management Committee. - Approve the allocation of budgets for each business function to ensure resources are used optimally. - Drive the development and execution of strategic projects to drive growth and profitability objectives and monitor the effectiveness of identified initiatives (expansion/acquisition/capacity utilization). - Identify opportunities through benchmarking and industry analysis for business performance improvement and cost optimization. - Include long-term customer focus in the business strategy. - Monitor manufacturing and technical operations, capacity utilization scale up and sales and performance metrics (Profitability, Net Sales Realization etc.) - Monitor financial results of the business (P&L, balance sheet, budget, cash flow, etc.) - Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction, mediate in case of escalation of conflicts, oversee business performance in terms of customer acquisition, engagement and retention. - Maintain relationships with key external alliances (JVs) and partnerships with strategic vendors, key dealers and transporters, and key customers. - Coordinate with group functional heads and other BU heads wherever necessary for planning, execution and monitoring of business operations. - Act as the representative of the business in media events and across key government interfaces and policy makers at central and state level, along with Chairman. - Drive organization culture and mindset change, ensuring clarity and buy-in with the organization vision and objectives. - Set performance goals with each functional head and build an effective and cohesive management team towards achieving the business objectives.
