Job Description : HR DIRECTOR CANADA 10) The Director of Human Resources is responsible for managing the HR function of a growing international financial services firm that is looking to modernize and advance their business offering in Canada. This an exciting newly created position that will lead a team of HR professionals tasked with overseeing all aspects of human capital, compensation and talent attraction/retention across the firm. 11) Responsibilities: • Participate in developing HR function goals, objectives and systems. • Work closely with senior management and line managers to identify, design and execute strategies that drive business results. • Deliver key HR initiatives across the HR spectrum, including workforce planning, resourcing, talent management, compensation and reward, employee relations and performance management. • Developing, reviewing and updating HR policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure the firm's labour practices are compliant with regulatory requirements. • Monitoring compliance with the firm and government policies and regulation updates and take appropriate corrective measures. • First point of contact for employees and managers, advising on benefits and HR policies, managing or escalating issues as necessary. • Provide guidance and support to Managers and staff on various employment related issues, including termination, complaints and disciplinary actions etc. • Attend training and seminars to stay current on Human Resources laws, legislation and best practices. • Directly line manage a team of three team members. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 10+ years HR related experience. • Professional Designation (CHRL or CHRP) is an asset. • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and standards. • Solid knowledge of governmental legislation, including Canada Labour Code, Human Rights Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc. • Knowledge of HR administration, training & development, recruitment, employee relations, health & safety, compensation & benefits management. • Prior experience within an international financial services environment and a cross-cultural working environment is essential. • Ability to manage and process payroll. • Strong interpersonal, time management, communication and conflict resolution skills to deal effectively with multiple stakeholders. • Adaptable and flexible to work in a demanding and challenging environment.
