Vice President Finance

Job Description : VP FINANCE UAE large local group. This VP Finance sits in the Food industry, overseeing 3 major verticals including food production, distribution, and retail. The VP Finance will work alongside 3 commercial business leaders, acting as a finance business partner to them all, whilst overseeing a large finance department. ONLY CANDIDATES WITH FOOD EXPERIENCE WILL BE SHORTLISTED. Responsibilities Reporting to the Group CFO Advise the key members of Senior Management team on financial planning budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters. Oversee large finance team between 40-50 people (including 3 at FD level) Serves as the management liaison to the Board and Audit Committee; Contributes to the development of group’s strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization. Annual budget process. Ensures that organization is adhering to the strategic plan, delivering status reports to the Board. Improves administrative and operational accounting services Cash management, capital funding (structure) and investment strategies. Ensures efficient and effective management of finances through all necessary financial controls, systems and processes and ensures accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records Oversees the project finance process - liaises with banks, financial institutions, and any other creditor for arrangement of funds Monitors financial performance versus the budget to ensure awareness of anticipated costs/revenues, excesses/deficits, areas of unsatisfactory performance and potential performance improvement opportunities. Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting including the coordination and completeness of annual audit reviews and ensuring compliance with IFRS and with all legal requirements. Leads the development of standard models for investment proposal preparation Assesses the risks associated with the financial transactions executed and collaborates closely with the CFO on monitoring and implementing them. Liaise with auditors Leads the implementation of Tax Policies including Corporation Tax, Zakat and Direct/Indirect Taxes (across applicable territories). Food manufacture & distribution experience is essential UAE experience essential Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA) MBA and/or Bachelors in Accounting or similar Experience reporting directly to the Board Experience of managing a large finance team (up to 50 people) 18-25 yrs total work experience Strong personality, ability to influence at senior level
