Logistics and Warehouse Head 
20 yearsJob Description : HEAD LOGISTICS AND WAREHOUSING OMAN FOR AUTO Seek information on new projects, volume projections from head of departmets - Understand specific initiatives, assumptions that can have a bearing on warehouse operations; Estimate financial and non-financial resources required; Identify bottle-necks and mitigation measures; Create an annual business plan - covering objectives, timelines, budgets required, seeking approvals & modify business plan as required in order to prepare for activities required during the year. Infrastructure & capex Planning : - Review facility layout plans from Projects - Direct in-house / external design teams on warehouse layouts (racking design etc) - Evaluate techno-commercial aspects of equipments, trailers etc - Approve selection of such equipments / trailers - Review budgetary estimates and secure approvals; Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors; Coordinate with finance and audit functions for processing procurement in order to prepare the necessary infrastructure as per business plans. Manpower planning : - Understand growth in business volumes (new vehicle sales, parts and inventory) - Analyse such growth in light of productivity norms; Estimate impact on manpower requirements; Prepare manpower plans (numbers, financials etc); Seek necessary approvals; Coordinate with HR for recruitment in order to staff the warehouse function with the appropriate manpower. Budgeting, budget monitoring : - Review previous year's actual expenses - Identify areas of improvement - Make assumptions for current year's budget - Estimate the expense budget for the current year - Seek needed approvals from MD - Setup needed review & monitoring mechanisms - Verify adherence to budgeted norms in order to maintain cost efficiencies in operations across Warehouse and Vehicle Yard operations. Fleet Management : - Set-up monitoring systems for movement, costs and driver performance of fleet vehicles - Review overall costs, utilisation and productivity on a regular basis - Guide team on corrective actions - Verfiy improvement in fleet operational parameters in order to efficiently run fleet operations for delivery of parts and vehicles PI, ERP support, Process monitoring - Study existing process and issues being faced; Identify root causes of issues - Map processes; Analyse work-flow - Identify opportunities for improvement; Re-design processes - Brainstorm with team on problem resolution mechanisms - Guide team on deployment of solution; Coordinate with IT and other departments - Secure buy-in from all stakeholders - Verify improvement on operational parameters in order to streamline process for greater efficiencies. Insurance claims management : - Review reports on damaged vehicles and estimates for repair; Liaise with insurance broker - Secure needed approvals with the broker for repairs under 300 OMR; (for the rest) Monitor the insurance claim approval process - Intervene where necessary to negotiate with insurance agency - Maintain cordial relationship with surveyors and insurance agencies - Resolve disputes / disagreements with insurance agencies in order to receive timely approvals of claims. Procurement - consumables / Assets : - Review requests for consumables in light of current stock, business need etc; Approve such requests - Identify & evaluate vendors for supplying consumables and spares - Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors - Short-list vendors for final approval as per audit guidelines - Monitor vendor performance and relationship - Resolve issues; Build relationship with vendors in order to optimally procure consumables and spares for warehouse operations People management : - Analyse feedback on employee issues; Direct corrective actions; Guide development of monthly communication bulletin - Recognise and reward contributions of staff; Set KPI / KRAs for team - Finalise performance rating and increments; Approve & nominate people for training - Resolve administrative issues and grievances of employees - Approve selection of new hires; Review Omanisation progress and direct needed actions - Implement employee engagement improvement actions - Guide GEMBA / Kaizen activities in order to build a motivated and productive Warehouse Function.
