Job Description : PLASTIC PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR KENYA Overall Objective of the Job The Production Supervisor will oversee operations and offer support in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, equipment and engagement in a shift based mode of operation. The Supervisor will also be responsible for organizing resources for set-up of materials, equipment, machine operation and packaging of WIP and finished goods for delivery to the stores in accordance with the Production planning. Key Responsibilities Key Deliverables Monitor production output to ensure maximum productivity through the achievements of production targets 100% adherence to Production plan Administer all employee schedules, supervise all shift production and maintenance schedules OEE 90% min, 100% adherence to shift labour schedule Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data. 100% filling of shift reports in the Production module of ERP Train and develop production teams in the shift to ensure highly skilled and trained staff in line with business needs. Zero LTI, Zero quality complaints and OEE 90% minimum Perform routine technical checks on machines daily autonomous maintenance activities (inspection, lubrication, maintenance and cleaning OEE 90% Min Ensure finished goods conform to set/customer standards. Zero customer complaints Ensure timely closure of all production jobs created in the ERP while ensuring data integrity. 100% Jobs Closures Monitors machine performance and operating parameters to ensure production quality and volumes are achieved in line with the production plan. Rejection rate less than 0.5% Makes proactive suggestions about operation methods, processes and increasing performance. Initiate and support continuous improvement programs. 2 improvement suggestions per month and 1 kaizen (implemented) per month Initiate and enforce safe work practices, follow safe operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard product/ personal safety, company property, environmental and team safety. Zero LTI and 100% adherence to TSW gear 1 (work place organization and cleanliness) Academic and Professional Qualifications ? Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Production or Automotive) / Higher National Diploma (HND) Technology, Process/Biochemical Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent ? At least 12 years’ relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment with Kaizen practice in a supervisory role preferabley from Plastic Industry Knowledge and Experience ? Sound knowledge of electrical/ mechanical/processing, ? Procedural knowledge of material usage. ? Production processes and standards, ? Knowledge in TPM – Total Productive Maintenance ? Good Manufacturing Practices and hygiene, ? Machine operation procedures (Multi Skilled Operator) ? Have knowledge of mechanical equipment and the ability to diagnose and correct equipment malfunction. Functional Skills ? Ability to take decisions within company procedures and policies as well the accountability that comes with it ? Multiskilled with ability to work across the other roles in operations ? Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as and when required ? Ability and willingness to continuously learn and improve personal competence is essential
