Job Description : PRODUCTION LEAD SOUTH AFRICA FOR COCA COLA Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for a Group Lead: Manufacturing Optimisation. This is a senior level resource in the Supply Chain Excellence department, and they lead efforts to support the attainment of high performance within CCBA by ensuring that aligned and effective logistics strategies are deployed to CCBA markets. The Group Lead: Manufacturing Optimisation plays a leading role in improving Manufacturing best practices and building high performance capability for the CCBA Group within the Manufacturing operations by deploying the Supply Chain Way of Working through their expert and specialized knowledge, supported by a team of specialists in the areas of Asset Management, Production Management, and Technology Management. They ensure consistency, uniformity, and integrity in the manufacturing operation of the organisation through the application of standards and procedures and adherence to agreed governance systems. The successful applicant will report into the Group Head: Supply Chain Excellence. Key Purpose: The Group Lead: Manufacturing Optimisation provides guidance to country operational teams on all aspects related to Manufacturing. Also, in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence (CoE) ensures that the capability needed to successfully deploy the strategy is developed. They collaborate with the Manufacturing CoE and Communities of Practice (CoP) across CCBA and consult with the Group Lead: Logistics Optimisation and Group Lead: SC Development and Capability to ensure horizontal alignment of manufacturing strategies. They consult with the greater CCBA and KO counterparts to align and share ways of working and best practices. They provide direction as well as in country support and capability building for all aspects related to the manufacturing function, manufacturing strategies, policies, and frameworks. This role is responsible for the alignment of all manufacturing strategies and training, to build the capabilities required for the manufacturing strategies. They support countries in executing the manufacturing strategy in collaboration with the Group COE. They accelerate capability development and the pace of innovation for Manufacturing operational employees by activating a Learning culture within SC, utilising the CoE and CoP within Manufacturing in CCBA. This role ensures consistency, uniformity, and integrity in the CCBA Manufacturing function throughout the organisation through the identification, standardization, and deployment of best practices across countries in the manufacturing function, in collaboration with the manufacturing CoE. Key Outputs and Accountabilities Include: Continuously researching and learning about the current global thinking on Supply Chain Capability Development in general and in the bottling industry specifically. Defining the long-range plan focus areas for the supply chain function in line with the Supply Chain strategy. Owning the consolidation of group reports, while ensuring that poor performance is addressed through a high degree of accountability management. Develop and effectively deploy Manufacturing Strategies, Policies and supporting frameworks to drive best in class performance. Ensuring adherence to standard structure in all CCBA sites and drive continuous improvement. Developing and supporting the entrenchment of a culture of step-change performance and continuous improvement. Performing an enterprise-wide loss and waste analysis, in collaboration with the Growth team and other functions, to drive the CCBA SC strategy. Ensuring the vertical and horizontal alignment of relevant Supply Chain strategies with the overall SC strategy and CCBA’s game plan, in collaboration with the COE and the Head of SC Excellence. Providing relevant annual budget guidelines to drive a step-change in capability and improvement in performance and productivity. Facilitating the 3-year operational excellence masterplan by each market and ensure support from CoE in effectively executing it. Providing relevant training support for all markets to ensure successful deployment and implementation of the strategy. Facilitating and driving the standardization of work practices and business processes in CCBA related to SC. Anticipate new Work Practice needs, develop, and deploy accordingly in collaboration with the CoE and the Manufacturing Optimisation and Logistics Optimisation teams. Coordinating the effective functioning of the CoE and its focused country intervention. Facilitating benchmarking and ensure support is provided for FI initiatives flowing from benchmarking. Supporting the recruitment and onboarding of Senior Leaders within the Supply Chain in CCBA’s markets. Qualifications: The minimum qualification required for this job is a degree in Engineering or Technical field (Food science, Food Technology, etc). A Master's Degree will be an added advantage. Experience: 10+ years’ experience in operational environments in a variety of SC roles. 5+ years’ experience in a Leadership role in a manufacturing plant, or as a Group or COE Specialist. Deep manufacturing functional experience is preferred. Should demonstrate deep understanding of the SC Way and other best in class SC operating models based on TPM or WCM or Lean 6 Sigma. Must have detailed understanding of Manufacturing Operational Processes and Systems and continuous improvement knowledge. Corporate (Head Office) experience will be an added advantage
