Plant Manager

Job Description : Plant Manager (LNG / Oil & Gas / Operations / Engineering / Safety / Efficiency) – West Africa an Oil & Gas company is seeking an LNG Plant Manager who will hold one of the key positions at the company’s organization in Nigeria. The incumbent will be responsible for the overall safety and efficiency for the operations of the LNG Process Trains, C3, Power Generation and Balance of Plant, ensuring production targets are met whilst maintaining a safe and sustainable environment. The ideal incumbent will have experience working at an LNG plant, having managed individuals from various backgrounds and professions, within the Oil & Gas industry. The Plant Manager will be reporting directly into Head of Operations - Plant & Projects. Responsibilities: · Leads & manages plant functions/ department & support LNG production as per business objectives. · Lead Ops Manager, Engineer & Maintenance Manager, Plant HSE and ensure safe and efficient plant operations. · Special focus on review of Ops / Maintenance / HSE procedures and systems and continuous improvement of plant performance. · Interface with other departments in the company to ensure required support for smooth operations. · Responsible for reporting, budgeting, audits, resource planning and implementation. · Responsible for setting plant & team’s KPI and regular review and feedback for improvement. · Direct the sourcing, screening, and hiring of new or replacement personnel. · Ensure competency assessment, training & development of talent in the plant. · Identification of critical roles and succession planning and development of talent pool. · Create a work environment that promotes effective goal accomplishment, productivity and morale that maximizes productivity & retention of the personnel. · Plan & ensure required process automation and development activities impacting productivity. · Manage and oversee the planning, budgeting, contracting and performance of planned and unplanned plant outages. · Conduct periodic reviews of policies and procedures to assure they reflect the plant operating requirements. · Conduct regular inspections and observation tours and establish within the department regular inspections of the work area to ensure employees work in accordance with safe practices, company procedures and safety regulations. · Coordinate with senior leadership on planned capital expenditures, provide input as required for the operation of the facility. · Ensure meeting regulatory requirements, any statutory requirements and other goals and objectives set by senior leadership that will be needed to operate the facility in a safe and efficient manner. Requirements: Qualification and Skill · 20+ years of experience of which 10 years shall be in the operations of LNG facilities at a senior level. · Chemical or Process Engineering and Operations background with proven experience in the management of operations and maintenance within an LNG plant. · Proven management and leadership qualities. · Proven knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation etc.) · Capable of communicating with corporate, technical, and non-technical internal and external stakeholders. · Knowledge and understanding of HSSE concepts and management techniques, hazard identification and risk management, audits & compliance. · Physically fit, flexible (extended working hours may be required).
