Cluster General Manager

Job Description : Cluster General Manager - Glass and Steel (Ajman) UAE The General Manager will be responsible for formulating overall business strategy with an objective to achieve long-term and short-term business goals while keeping a healthy working environment in compliance with Group policies and procedures. Main Responsibilities: Key Deliverables a. Achievement of annual budgeted profits b. Business development into new markets c. Related/unrelated diversification d. Risk mitigation Business Development a. Ensuring that business unit has sufficient jobs in hand to keep the resources fully utilized. b. Overseeing the overall tendering process to avoid over/under pricing. c. Using contact and experiences earned over the years to extend business outreach in private and government entities with the objective of maintaining healthy business pipeline. d. Regularly review the tender pipeline to ensure regular follow ups and wins. e. Keep continuous communication with potential clients with the objective of getting regular inquiries. f. Keep an eye on macro-economic factors with the objective of finding new potential opportunities. Operations a. Oversee day-day operations of the business and implement strong control over operations. b. Review the overall business operating model with the objective of simplification, removing redundant procedures, achieving quality and highest level of efficiencies. c. Achieve improvement in business operations by introducing process and product development. d. Lead operations planning to ensure uninterrupted flow of operations and eliminate any downtime or idle time. e. Regular review of on-going jobs performances to ensure achievement of targeted profits. Administrative a. Ensure optimum hiring, utilization and development of human capital. b. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, policies and procedures. c. Organizational development with a view of achieving long terms objectives of the business unit. d. Inculcate a culture of discipline and result orientation Academics BS in Engineering (MSc/MBA is a plus) Requisites a. Minimum 7 years of proven experience in leading a steel/aluminum fabrication company b. Overall 20 years of experience in steel/aluminum fabrication sector Skill Sets a. Strong analytical ability b. Excellent communication skills c. Basic understanding of financial reports and budgeting d. Reasonable understanding of business processes and functions (HR, Admin, procurement) e. Strong leadership skills f. Problem solving aptitude
