10 yearsJob Description : HEAD OF CORPORATE FINANCE EAST AFRICA Reporting to the Head of Capital Markets Ltd, the Head of Corporate Finance will be responsible to grow the business of the unit in a strong and sustainable manner within relevant laws and regulations as well as internal company policies, guidelines, rules and regulations. Responsibilities: · Devise short term and long-term strategies and plans to meet the objectives of the corporate finance business · Drive the implementation of approved strategies and plans to deliver the objectives · Deepen working relationships with the Bank and other entities of the Group towards developing a pipeline and proposing appropriate solutions to clients · Identify potential targets for Transaction Advisory services, covering DCM, ECM, M&A and Private Equity, among others · Develop a network of Investors, Financial Intermediaries and DFI’s who can support in raising capital for prospects · Develop business cases and present them to top management for approval and endorsement · Ensure that product and/or service problems are effectively resolved in a timely manner · Ensure an optimum structure with the required staffing skills and competencies to deliver set objectives · Effectively lead and manage the corporate finance team towards optimal performance · Ensure effective management of company resources Requirements: Qualification and Skill · University Degree in Finance/Accounting/Statistics or related field · A postgraduate degree, CFA or any other relevant professional qualification would be a definite advantage · At least 10 years of relevant experience out of which 5 years shall be at a senior position in a financial institution · Cross sector and product experience and full understanding of Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Advisory · Good knowledge of Corporate Finance, Investments, Valuation and Financial Modelling · Strong strategy and business planning skills · Ability to build and optimise stakeholder networks · Strong leadership and people development capabilities · Excellent contact in the industry and a strong track record in deal execution · Conversant with relevant legislation · Ability to produce high quality output within tight deadlines
