10 yearsJob Description : PROJECT MANAGER SUGAR INDUSTRY UGANDA Reporting to Director Projects the incumbent will be independent in-charge for Sugar projects. He will be responsible for: (1) Identification of opportunities for expansion / diversification / acquisitions / divestments and advise management. (2) Pre-feasibility analysis for any new investments covering preliminary market potential and budgetary revenues and costs. (3) Preparation of detailed project reports including detailed market study (volumes, quality, and prices), evaluation of technology options, assessment of capital costs and operating costs, assessment of input availability, organization structure and staffing, detailed financial projections (including balance sheet, profit & loss account, cash-flow, investment schedule, depreciation, financing options, etc.) (4) Consultants Selection, Design Management & Coordination (5) Tendering & procurement Strategy for Project &Implementing. (6) Develop Construction Programs, Monitoring & Tracking, Earned Value (EVM), SPI, Critical Path & S- Curve Analysis. (7) Contractors, Sub-contractors, Vendors Selection, Deployment & Management, Contract Administration & Communications. (8) Ensuring Regulatory Compliances & Statutory Approvals. (9) Providing oversight and leadership in executing projects from inception to planning to completion. (10) Checking & verification of designers submissions (design basis reports, BOQs, technical specifications, value engineering, cost-benefit analysis, drawings, equipment & finishing schedules, etc). (11) Cost control during all stages of projects (design, tendering & procurement, execution, and close-out). (12) Procurement for Projects (as per internal / financiers procedures): floating inquiries for equipment & services required, evaluating offers received, negotiations with short-listed parties, detailed contract documentation. (13) Project implementation monitoring project progress; coordinating activities of consultants, suppliers, contractors, internal staff, etc; reporting to management and financiers. (14) Day to day communication correspondences with all project stakeholders including contractual issues (15) Interaction with Government agencies in respect of various project activities to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations. Desired Candidate Profile The candidate should be a Mechanical Engineering graduate, with a minimum of 20 years of similar experience in the sugar Industry.
