Warehouse and Distribution Manager 
15 yearsJob Description : WAREHOUSE AND DISTRIBUTION MANAGER USA leading contract manufacturer of beverages and beverage packaging for several major brands and private label retail customers. This role is based in their Pickering plant which is the largest of their Canadian operations. This plant is a chilled beverage production facility with 5 production lines servicing 4 key customers. Position Summary: Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Warehouse and Distribution Center Manager will lead an organization of 4 staff and approx. 25 hourly associates in a fast paced beverage operation. This role will be an integral part of the plant leadership team responsible for setting up their organization to meet daily expectations and removing roadblocks to success, while providing long term strategic support to improve total site performance. Key Responsibilities Implement process improvements in shipping and receiving functions to drive improved inventory control, shipping accuracy and productivity. Implement dock scheduling process to reduce truck loading times and overall capacity. Co-lead WMS implementation to improve inventory control Coach and develop warehouse supervisors and logistics planner. Develop crewing plan for extended shipping hours and support recruitment and development of forklift drivers. Project lead for major warehouse expansion and automation project - establish vision and strategy for new warehouse. Manage shunting and transportation contractors to reduce costs and improve service level Manage forklift fleet, including service and vendor selection. Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements Bachelor's degree or post secondary education in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management or related fields. 15+ years of warehouse/inventory management leadership experience Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP/SAP Extensive experience in Shipping and Receiving functions Strong knowledge of end-to-end industry logistics (transportation, dock management) Food and Beverage experience/CPG Experience in Goods Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Creating and implementing organizational development plans and key performance indicators (KPI's) aligned to support operational goals and opportunities. Strong communication skills - verbal & written. Strong computer skills, Excel & Microsoft Office.
