Job Description : Head, Human Resources (West Africa) Base Location: Lagos, Nigeria (40% Regional Travel) What you become a part of: The successful candidate will have strategic and tactical responsibility to contribute to and deploy the companys people strategy in the region. Incumbent will drive talent management, engagement and cultural-shift while working closely with business leadership and global HR team to deliver and sustain growth. What to expect: · As part of regional leadership team, translate business needs to commercially driven HR action plans, and oversee delivery within the global people strategy, framework. This includes roll-out of initiatives in performance management, talent development and compensation consistency. · Build an open and inclusive environment that promote employee excellence by driving Talent management, Succession Planning, Talent Retention and high potential future leader identification, in close collaboration with the business leadership and global HR team. · Support the leadership team in developing and promoting a performance-driven culture across the organization and ensuring the region has the right people in the right place at the right time. · Support the regional leadership with strategic growth objectives including M&A (due-diligence, post-acquisition integration, organizational design). · Provide technical leadership on employee/labor relations in support of local HR management local businesses in region and drive people initiatives and programs in the region through the business leadership team. · Promote harmonious and business effective relations with the trade unions, other IR partners and employees generally. · Consolidate sub-regional HR data and performance metrics for measuring effectiveness of HR initiatives and function in driving organizational performance and containing costs across sub-region. · Support HR transformation for the relevant business units and drive the adoption of HRMS in the region. · Collaborate with regional leadership to drive the succession planning program and identify future leaders consistent with a 3-year business plan; and a rewards program aimed at boosting employee performance. Essential skills, experience & education: · Over 12 years of prior experience leading regional HR function as a Business Partner in a sales-based environment. · Knowledge of HR programs, processes, labor regulation, cultures in sub-Saharan Africa region and their application to complex organizational issues. · Knowledge of organizational concepts, including: team management, organizational design, resource utilization and workforce planning. · Proven experience in dealing with HR matters related to acquisitions and its derived components for the HR function (e.g., experience in due diligence, restructuring, among others). This includes experience in HR start-ups. · Prior experience in a pharmaceutical, consumers goods or healthcare-adjacent setting highly preferred. · Strong personal credibility and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with senior business leaders and staff alike. · Excellent consulting and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. · Experience working cross-culturally with diverse colleagues.
