20 yearsJob Description : GM NIGERIA 20+ years experience General Manager from Top FMCG company working in India for the role of GM_Direct to Retail, for Nigeria The General Manager Direct-to-Retail is responsible for the overall commercial strategy of the channel. Sales and sales activation, client/ principal engagement, fleet management, stocks and credit management as well as internal strategy numbers within the distribution house. Develops sales strategy for the channel and implements execution of the sales strategy nationwide. He ensures profitable growth in sales, revenue through planning, execution and management of a supportive team. The responsibilities include supervising the sales team and building long-term client relationships. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Head the Direct-to-Retail channel of the company. · Take ownership of channel strategy development and management, project portfolio development and operations management. · Spearheads the process of systematically translating brand objectives into customer business development plans and D2R execution plans. · Drive the continuous improvement and embedding of D2R strategies, plans, processes, standards in the organization. · As a leader, empowers the sales team through direction, leadership, and people development. · Create a high-performance team environment by providing focus and clarity in establishing expectations, and driving performance management. · Coordinates the implementation of sales activities, sales budget monitoring, P&L management, Principal management, promotional activities and business partnerships. · Develop and ensures implementation of strategies for effective fleet management. · Stock reconciliation and credit management. · Stock norm adherence in vans. · Forecasting, trading term negotiations and revenue management. · Manage sales growth and profitability of the existing neighborhood stores. Also, identity new potential stores to increase distribution penetration. · Coordinate communication of price, product & packages and provide functional direction to teams on customer appointment & termination. · Track and manage Sales Force performance data and reports to the Management Committee. · Drive the continuous improvement of the Field Force capabilities via Enabling Tools, Systems, Reporting & Analysis towards a performance driven organization. PERSON SPECIFICATIONS · Minimum 12 years Direct-to-Retail business management. · Experience working in a FMCG sales environment where understanding of strategic sales process and the steps necessary to drive sales results is required. · Experience managing Direct-to-Retail channel at a strategic level. · Strong commercial acumen and market knowledge of FMCG · Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying Direct-to-Retail strategy. · Minimum of a Bachelors degree preferred · Excellent interpersonal, and communication (oral and written); · Excellent analytical and presentation skills; · Must be organized, detail oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; · Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team where open, collaborative communication is expected; · Exhibits personal traits of curiosity, modesty, achievement orientation, and conscientiousness; · Team player that is creative, process oriented, and committed · Excellent knowledge and use of Basic MS Office Suites (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) KEY COMPETENCIES · Professionalism · Leadership qualities · Interpersonal communication abilities · Influence and negotiation capabilities · Problem solving & quick decision-making ability · Attention to detail and quality · Good knowledge of Nigeria and International laws · Ability to keep confidentiality in respect of all matters handled
