They have recently expanded into the South African market. They are seeking an Engineering Manager to be based in Cape Town. Duties and responsibilities: Human Capital Management Sourcing, allocation, and alignment. Confirm man assignments. Appoint and allocate human capital to the man assignment. Monitor labour variances. (Scheduled labour vs actual labour worked. Monitoring and developing competency (ASK) Develop world-class employees ((KPI’s ?2) Develop your human capital according to the training plan/schedule to reach a KPI rating of ?2. Implement and maintain the first 4 pillars of the 10 pillars of operational excellence. Discipline Monitoring, and appraising job results (KPIs) Coaching, counseling, and disciplining, incentives to employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Maintenance Monitor and align the efficiency of the company’s fixed assets (OEE > 75%) to world-class standards. Ensures high operating efficiency. (99 % machine availability). Ensuring that all routine and preventative maintenance requirements are defined and documented and that the tasks are carried out as planned (Maintenance Plan and Schedule). Ensuring that all critical spare items are defined and documented and that appropriate stock levels are securely stored on site. Eliminate breakdowns by implementing and maintaining TPM (Asset Preservation). Make sure all CCPs are verified as per SOP (metal detectors and X-ray machines at an hourly rate) and UV plant daily. Financial Do yearly budgets. Manage the total operating/maintenance costs of each section against the budget. Control of all overtime worked. Safety Responsible to ensure full compliance with the OHSA and Regulations (Machinery Act). Maintains high occupational safety standards (Zero IODs). Ensure that the provisions of the Act and Regulations regarding machinery are complied with. Ensure compliance with the company’s health and safety requirements that relate to machinery, such as lock-out, confined space entry, equipment inspections, operator training, machine guarding, and hazard identification and risk assessment. Implement and maintain te company’s procedures and policies. Requirements: An Engineering Degree/Diploma At least 5 years in Management At least 10 years of industrial experience including 8 years in operations Strong mechanical, electrical, and production knowledge
