Job Description : SENIOR FINANCE MANAGER KENYA 10-15 years experience responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the group, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, parameters tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. Responsibilities · Arrange funding/liase with banks · Analysis of the ledgers/expenses/trends · Oversee the accounts department and ensure smooth running · Produce accounts together with your team and present to the board monthly · Monitor performance of the accounts department · Contribute to decisions regarding financial strategy · Represent the company for any issues. · Strategic planning for the company together with the BOD and top management · Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans · Lead the budgeting process and ensure that it falls within approved guidelines, company strategies and projections and evaluate monthly performance against the budget · Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction, e.g stock days, debtors’ days, profitability, · Analyse and approve any large expansion projects/ capital expenditure · Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team · Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team · Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced · Oversee the company's transaction processing systems · Implement operational best practices Harmonise all financial and accounting policies/functions · Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package (incentive for sales staff, bonus and increment packages) · Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions · Review and approve tax plans · Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile · Monitor all open legal issues involving the group, and legal issues affecting the industry · Construct and monitor reliable control systems Ensure that there are adequate financial controls at all levels · Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements. To be aware of all tax laws and any other legal requirements affecting the group. · Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies · Maintain relations/liase with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations · insurance · Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts · Arrange for debt and equity financing · Invest funds · Maintain banking relationships · Represent the company with investment bankers and investors Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent · Master’s degree or its equivalent g. MBA, MSC · Professional chartered accounting certification- CFA, ACA, ACCA. · Good understanding of Accounting, Banking, Properties, Tax and regulatory issues · Bookkeeping and organizational administration knowledge · Financial statements preparation and reporting knowledge · Good leadership, numerical, analytical, Problem solving, credit analysis, appraisal skills · Strategic Focused · Sociable with good interpersonal skill · Good written and oral communication skill · Good presentation skill · Organization and coordination skills · Demonstrates integrity, strives for excellence in her/his work. · Ability to meet tight deadlines which might result in putting in extra hours · Above average IT exposure (good knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point) · Performance driven
