Job Description : Director, Accounting & Compliance COE (Penang) job has become available at a manufacturing and production start-up to be based in Penang MALAYSIA About the Director, Accounting & Compliance COE (Penang) Role: Due to the continuous growth of the company and for future expansion plan, the Director, Accounting & Compliance COE (Penang) will play a key role in directing the planning, organisation, operations, and administration of in-scope corporate and international accounting functions for the centre of excellence. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the transition of additional accounting roles filled in Penang and integrate into the team structure where applicable Be responsible for the timely and accurate monthly close processes for all in-scope of Micron entities in accordance with US GAAP while ensuring proper maintenance of statutory financials Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable international and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation, and providing recommendations, as appropriate Be responsible for risk identification and mitigation, creating and maintaining process flowcharts for operation effectiveness Focus on technical accounting interpretation and application, where applicable including initiate internal control, policy development, research, and documentation To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and strong stakeholder management capability to communicate effectively. Key Requirements: Strong team player with experience working in a dynamic organisation and demonstrated ability to build bridges between stakeholders Superior analytical skills, understanding of data privacy, deep understanding of business principles Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and local country accounting standards Knowledgeable in accounting practices and complex accounting relating to lease, hedging, pension, stock comps, debts Continuously drive continuous efficiency and quality improvements Proven track record of team development, process efficiency and innovating finance workloads Experience building and expanding a centre of excellence is highly preferred
