Manufacturing Manager

Job Description : MANUFACTURING MANAGER MALAYSIA Reporting directly to the Director, this is a role for a manager who is well versed in manufacturing focusing on automation and sheet metal. Due to excellent results and future expansion plans, the Manufacturing Manager will play a key role in ensuring a safe work environment, driving quality improvements, providing premier customer service, developing a technically qualified work workforce, reducing operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements. Manage a group of Engineers and Technicians to fulfil supply chain requirement to attain high level of customer service and effective operations to meet revenue goals and targets. Manage and develop staff in a manner that will facilitate high-performance in line with standards of leadership Instil and maintain a sense of urgency and customer focus within manufacturing Prioritise production in line with customer service requirements and revenue goals Promote a quality-focused culture Ensure safety policies, procedures and programmes are implemented throughout manufacturing Develop and maintain a team-based approach within manufacturing Ensure results are maintained and displayed on a timely basis Organise and lead a small team of project engineers and technicians to support the introduction of new products into the operations as well as coordinate and drive transfers and migration of existing products from other sites. This also includes both in-house as well as outsourcing of modules till release to mass production Participate to ensure implementation and securing approval for all projects per the PLC guidelines and process together with the Sending Project Manager/Leader Be responsible for Technical Document Control and Engineering Change implementation of Bruker Penang for AXS business Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques A thorough understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes, assembly and production methods A thorough understanding of production planning, scheduling, purchasing, and inventory control Excellent knowledge of ERP systems, including MRP logic and transactions and be able to convert SAP data into useful information Ability to spot critical process issues quickly Key characteristics: Simultaneously team-oriented and a strong decision-maker Process-oriented in nature Understands quality systems, processes and methodologies Strong analytical skills and common sense with emphasis on the scientific method of problem solving Ability to lead and direct cross-functional teams Strong leadership, customer focus, and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Engineering Eight or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment Working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP) Excellent PC skills, especially in Excel
