10 yearsJob Description : Manager - Instrumentation & Scada Location: Mutoshi (Kolwezi), Democratic Republic of the Congo You will manage the Instrumentation Department by monitoring daily operations and ensuring system maintenance activities are undertaken safely, efficiently and in accordance with the assigned target. Additionally, you will perform work related to the installation, configuration, maintenance, and operation of all electrical and SCADA system components. You will oversee and coordinate all equipment system maintenance activities, from the planning to different kinds of maintenance, in order to maintain the availability and reliability of equipment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Monitoring of general instrumentation and control, C&I panels, Automation system PLC, DCS, SCADA, Network, PID controller, PCB, VFD, temperature and pressure gauge, flow meter, PT, TT, Sensor, Switches, Valves, and various Field instruments etc. and maintain records for the same. · Routine and break-down maintenance of above installation as specified above within least possible time. · Fault diagnosis and rectification, and assessment of chronic problems. · Analysis of breakdown, failure and chronic problem and taking corrective action. · Continuous monitoring and Response to problem reported by production management / operatives. · Continuous monitoring and upgradation of the SCADA system as per requirements. · Effective maintenance of DCS, SCADA, instrumentation, and control and PLCS systems. · Preparation of Maintenance Schedule, Spare parts and equipments list as required. · Support SAP team and operate SAP system and during and after implementation plant maintenance (PM) and material management (MM) module. · Hands On and depth knowledge/expertise related to DCS, PLC, SCADA and Control system equipments, especially troubleshooting logics, modification of logics as per Process Operation and maintenance requirement, Programming, Forcing and Bypass logics temporary subject to acceptance by all O&M team. · Repair, Programming and Troubleshooting of DCS, PLC, SCADA and Control system equipments, I/O and Communication network, DCS Workstation, engineering station, VFDs etc. · Effective maintenance of SX EW process equipments, services and utilities, Copper & Cobalt and HMS plant. · Supervision of workshop activities such as motor rewinding, repair of pumping stations, welding fabrication of service pipeline and installation work. · Energy audit of electrical and heat energy, water consumption at utility points to minimise consumption. · Preparation of material indents of Mechanical/ Electrical spares / Equipments as per requirement and ensures to maintain the stock of inventory for smooth functioning of plant activities. · Ensure to comply with all statutory requirements of the plant as laid down under various statutory rules. · Working out on up gradation of mechanical/electrical/service utilities equipments asper requirement and preparation of DPR, technical specification, tendering and execution. · Ensure to follow safety guidelines and address to the issues within least possible time. · Maintain overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and reliability as well as continuously improving plant performance across all aspects. · Any other duties assigned from time to time. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Oversee and coordinate the Instrumentation sequences: Procurement, inventory management and maintenance operations ; · Optimize the system monitoring process and ensure compliance with safety regulations, services and processes of quality standards · Design, implement and improve maintenance procedures, and develop the provisional planning of maintenance; · Ensure that staff development, training programs and performance reporting are undertaken to the required schedules; · Review maintenance activities reports and other data to identify potential problems related to maintenance operations ; · Supervise working of all panel departments and provide appropriate training to all employees to ensure optimal level of performance and provide all hiring assistance · Maintain quality of all maintenance tools and equipment, prepare appropriate budgets and reports to be submitted to management · Carry out regular inspection on all operations and facilities related to equipment maintenance to ensure on-time delivery of services, identify and resolve equipment issues and maintain compliance with all technology regulations ; · Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance improvement initiatives, ensuring production equipment integrity and improving safe operating practices within the area of responsibility ; · Manage human and material resources of the department, defining and assigning maintenance targets to staff, ensuring proper planning in terms of materials and Workforce ; · Apply and enforce national and international technical requirements and standards; · Develop and monitor the budget, particularly the tracking of expenses of his department; · Ensure all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures as well as company standards ; · Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs; · Oversee equipment stock and placing orders for new supplies when necessary; · Manage relationships with contractors, service providers and internal equipment end users REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: · Engineering Degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in instrumentation or equivalent qualification · A minimum of 10 years experience in maintenance management in an industrial and mining environment; · Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facility management, or a similar field is preferred.
