18 yearsJob Description : GROUP HEAD FINANCE SOUTH AFRICA A leading financial services organisation, committed to generating sustainable benefits for both their clients and society, is looking for an operational Group Head of Finance to join their expanding team in Johannesburg. As a member of the executive committee at this diverse, progressive, and fast-growing company, the primary objective of this position will be to oversee, maintain, and enhance the group's business and finance operations, in accordance with company policies and regulations. The Group Head of Finance is set to play a crucial role in the upcoming growth phase of the company. Based at the holding level, you will be accountable for the subsidiaries of the company, acting as the crucial link that binds all the departments together. This position necessitates a full-time presence on the ground, with a proactive approach to driving change, taking the lead, and creating efficiencies. A Finance role with an operational and strategic flair to it. Key qualifications and experience required for the Group Head of Finance: CA MANDATORY 18 years+ of post-qualified experience, within the Financial Services sector (small-medium company) Proven track record of problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making Strong understanding of financial sector compliance, risk, and regulations Manage financial operations and supervise a Finance team Deal with various internal and external stakeholders and providing them with direction: Head of Compliance, Head of IT, Company Secretary, Internal and external audit firms, Risk Manager Oversee daily business operations, and corporate governance, and improve operating procedures if need be Maintain group insurance policies Improve internal controls and external operational processes Review and contribute to the group risk register Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and systems for accurate financial reporting and efficient operations Coordinate the preparation of financial statements and work with auditors Manage budgeting and provide financial guidance to the executive team Develop financial forecasting models Manage cash flow, liquidity and funding Recommend strategies to improve results Drive strategic initiatives Monitor and report compliance Prepare Board reports and participate in Board meetings Maintain relationships with key service providers and the Board of Directors Improve efficiencies and control measures, reduce costs, and increase profitability Collaborate with the executive team to implement business strategy Proactive, taking initiative to identify and address challenges before they become problems Motivated by a strong desire to achieve successful results and make a difference Strong ability to work collaboratively and working effectively with others Able to think strategically and develop a plan of action that aligns with the organisation's Effective communicator, able to convey ideas and information clearly and convincingly to an audience Switched on, fluid Needs to be an Executor and a strong communicator Strong people management and leadership Must want to add value and get stuck in This opportunity enables you to have a real career path and potentially grow into a bigger role in the future.
