Job Description : General Manager - PET Recycling Plant - Nigeria - Lagos. rPET (recycled PET) production. They are committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility, focusing on transforming PET bottle waste into high-quality recycled materials. As part of their growth strategy they are seeking a highly experienced and driven General Manager to lead their rPET recycling plant in Nigeria. As the General Manager of their rPET recycling plant, you will oversee all aspects of plant operations and ensure the efficient and effective production of high-quality rPET products. Reporting directly to the company's executive team, you will be responsible for managing the entire plant, optimizing production processes, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and quality standards. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to drive business growth and enhance profitability. Provide overall leadership and direction to the rPET recycling plant, ensuring operational excellence and productivity. Develop and implement strategies to improve plant performance, enhance product quality, and optimize production efficiency. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance and identify areas for improvement. Oversee the entire production process, from PET bottle collection and sorting to PET flake production and B2B recycled PET resin manufacturing. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Manage plant budgets, control costs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement. Recruit, train, and develop plant staff, promoting a high-performance work environment. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders. Stay up to date with industry trends, innovations, and best practices. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 25 years of experience in the PET bottle recycling or polyester fiber industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Extensive knowledge of rPET production processes, including PET bottle sorting, PET flake production, and B2B recycled PET resin manufacturing. Strong understanding of the technical aspects of PET recycling, quality control, and product specifications. Proven track record of successfully managing plant operations, optimizing production, and delivering results. Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce. Sound business acumen and strategic thinking ability. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Familiarity with local regulations and environmental standards related to recycling operations.
