Job Description : CEO MINING Location- Lagos, Nigeria Qualification B.E/B. Tech(Mining) with first class mines certification Experience Min 18 years experience in Mining business including open cast operations for a min of 10 years To lead the overall business profitably covering the existing coal & iron ore mining units and new ones. Also planning and operationalizing all new units to achieve the desired level of operational efficiencies and managing key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities for this position Strategy & Planning Set business goals / targets for Coal/ Iron and OB production for the mining units as per the tenders Direct the planning, budgeting and implementation of strategies to achieve business goals and direct the company operations to ensure a profitable business Oversee operations of mining projects in Nigeria and review the overall business performance against targets Continuously measure business results against key performance indicators Plan and enable all required support systems for each unit to perform by actively engaging with stakeholders like the customer, land holders, government authorities and internal resources. Managing the Operations of Existing Mines Ensure optimum performance of mining operations including production, excavation, equipment availability, compliances, dispatch of coal as per schedule, etc. Ensure compliance to safety norms Monitoring Unit Performance Strengthen the monitoring mechanisms and identify areas of improvement to bring in efficiencies from time to time Monitor achievement of target as per P&B and the market trend & dynamics Review performance reports, ensure optimal utilization of the resources through periodic reviews and recommend corrective measures while ensuring cost effectiveness Managing Regulatory and Statutory Compliances Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory compliances and recommend corrective actions in case of deviation Engage with units and conduct surprise audits related to safety compliance, environment management, labour laws, and other regulations Ensure adherence to best practices in safety by training of operators Obtain timely clearances and approvals like Forest, Environment, Pollution, Lease renewal etc. Direct development of engagement plans with authorities Maintain cordial relationship with all appropriate authorities including customer organisations for smooth functioning of the Business Impact government policies and influence policy making in the favor of the company. Manage the local environment including labour unions and local communities in a proactive manner through the unit teams Liaison with key external stake holders like leadership teams of Customer organisations, Regulatory authority of government as well as influencers of the Local community around our mines for smooth operation of mines Ensure cordial industrial relations in all the units and compliance to environment and welfare provisions Build competent teams to successfully run and manage the projects Oversee implementation of critical HR processes in the Unit
