10 yearsJob Description : OPERATIONS DIRECTOR TORONTO CANADA A diverse privately owned food group who operate businesses across the food sourcing, food manufacturing and distribution space. The business is widely known for its quality foods and high SOP standards across food safety and manufacturing. Working with globally cultured food sources the business is a dynamic fast paced operation growing from strength to strength. This business is operating around $220M and looking to grow to $400M in the next 3 years, with state-of-the-art equipment and manufacturing facilities across the country the group are looking to re-evaluate its key leadership teams to drive productivity and excellence. Position Purpose: Driving Performance, Transforming team dynamics, evaluating the business hubs and operations. A key hands-on leadership role that is critical for the growth and drive of the business across the dry foods space servicing customers and suppliers by developing a masterful team through robust implementation, lean processes of Sourcing, Planning, Manufacturing and Delivery. Full accountability for the vision of the operations, supply chain, manufacturing lines and vision for improvements. A leader of change and agile thinking who has a solid reputation across the foods sectors within manufacturing and supply chains. Major Duties & Responsibilities Define key Metrics for Factories, Operations, Supply Chain efficiency along with review mechanism and regularly report them to relevant functions for better decision making. Identify and implement solutions for Sourcing, Planning, Manufacturing, Delivery along with other important decision-making tools in Supply Chain management. Responsible for overall Team development through regular feedback and periodic performance reviews against set goals. Focus on the quality of the team, training, development, and outputs. Contribute to the Strategic Planning process, as required. Balance the business needs and vision across the manufacturing sites and all supply chain requests. SOURCING: Ensure timely availability of material at each location to meet the business needs. Be analytical and plan the goods from suppliers due to planning needs Responsible for day-to-day Contracts / relationship management with all Suppliers. Minimize inward freight and related costs and identify ways of cost optimization. Optimize stock and materials at each location for maximized efficiency PLANNING: Develop and implement SOPs for undertaking Materials Planning (in & out bound) along with constant review of Warehouse and Inventory management. Plan global supplier management with international suppliers across Europe, ASIA, and local geographies Planning of the logistics and transportation operations Conduct all the Materials Planning is conducted through the systems. Plan the operation across the 5 lines. Plan the packaging process and smooth running of the ops. MANUFACTURING: Drive the smooth effectiveness and efficiency of the manufacturing operations so they are always optimally resourced to fully meet the business growth requirements. Make sure that materials, assets, and machinery is working to capacity Support the Sales growth through timely availability of finished goods (OTIF) at the best managed manufacturing costs. DELIVERY & EXECUTION: Meet and exceed the desired service levels every single time to meet customer expectations within budgeted costs. Work with clients on customer focus, delivery times and achievable KPI’s to benefit the relationships. Drive customer satisfaction globally Focus on the delivery times, shipping, and cross border transportations times REPORTING: This will report to the Managing Director. It will lead the full P&L for the operations across Canada the US and soon to be LATAM. Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain management MBA Preferred Experience leading fast paced food manufacturing operations across Canada regions. EXPERIENCE: 10+ year first hand experience in independently managing Operations & Supply Chain function in a multi-million-dollar environment. Exposure to fast paced operation within food manufacturing plants. Exposure to both MNC and privately owned business Exposure operating across Canada leading manufacturing facilities and transportations. Firsthand experiencing with ERP / Supply Chain tools – advanced technologies are a key advantage Experience of North & South America, Middle East, Australia, and ASIA supply chains. Ability to independently lead and co-ordinate multi-locational projects Dealing with 3rd party logistics service providers, negotiation skills and establishing good working relationship Negotiating deals with suppliers for cost effective materials Executed significant Cost improvement projects Analytical thinker with solid financial acumen A lean practitioner who can manage and adapt to change and transformation
