Maintenance Head

Job Description : Head - Maintenance. SOUTH AFRICA ( OPEN TO EXPATS) Must be a BE, having 15-20 years of total experience with Automobile companies, manufacturing mechanical components/assembly. The KRAs are as follows: 1. Lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance services 2. Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on mean time between failure, downtime reduction. 3. Knowledge of Controllers (fanuc / Seimens) 4. Hands on experience of Machine reconditioning / refurbishment 5. Knowledge of New Machine Commissioning 6. Strategy planning of Preventive Maintenance / Corrective maintenance / Reactive Maintenance / Condition Based Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance 7. Background of Automotive industry mainly gear machining / engine 50s machining and aseembly processes 8. Techno commercial knowledge with spare parts planning 9. Manage the team on technical best practices and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department. 10. Implement and manage continuous improvement by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes. 11. Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activities 12. Manage the team to ensure machine availability, reactively managing dysfunctional machinery with the Shift management 13. Optimise equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 14. Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure 15. Manage the process of introduction of new machinery and disposal of obsolete machinery 16. Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems 17. Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required Role Accountability.
