Fleet Manager

Job Description : FISHING FLEET MANAGER NIGERIA The fleet manager is responsible for the trawling activities of the company. As part of the management team, the fleet manager assists in formulating and implementing the company’s strategic goals and objectives. Your responsibilities will include • Management of the fishing vessels and the crews • General management of the operational base • Scheduling of fishing trips, fleet movement • Managing fuel supply and purchases • Production reports • Operational reports • Tracking expenses related to vessel operations (e.g. fuel) • Reduction of downtime • Ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards • Staying up to date with developments of the maritime sector and fishing equipment • Strategy recommendations Skills, qualifications General • A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as marine engineering or equivalent • 15 years of experience in marine sector, of which at least 5 in a supervisory role • Technical knowledge relevant to fishing vessels (navigation equipment, communication, fishing gear and maintenance procedures) • Leadership; ability to motivate and manage a diverse team • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans • Relevant certifications • Proficient with MS office
