10 yearsJob Description : TRADING MANAGER NIGERIA Trading Manager (Polymer, Resins, Commodity, Raw Material) @ Lagos, Nigeria Our client is a leading manufacturer of high quality, cost-effective plastic products & rigid packaging solutions in Nigeria. The Trading Division is involved in International Trading of Polymer, Resins, Commodity, Raw Material etc. · Department: Procurement, Sales & Logistics · Location: Lagos, Nigeria · Reports To: Managing Director Overview · The role is an established position with the primary objective of managing the Trading function for the Raw Material business vertical as a profit center. · The individual is expected to provide leadership towards the achievement of sales growth & profitability in driving business in line with company vision & values. · The individual will need to establish the overall raw material procurement strategy & management in order to maintain consistent availability of raw material. Qualifications, Desired Skills & Experience · Graduate with a Post Graduate qualification in Business Management · Should have a minimum of 10 years Institutional / Direct Sales experience in Polymer Resins/Commodity Trading" in Nigeria. · Very effective written & verbal communication skills · Must possess basic computer knowledge being able to use programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of Tally ERP9 is an advantage. · A sound overview of the global pattern of raw material supply & consumption & familiarity with producers & markets. · A personal record of profitable trading &/or marketing, &/or trade finance involving international markets. · Strong personal contacts with producers, traders & sound understanding of contracts, finance, insurance, freight, warehousing, etc. Key Responsibilities Trade Planning & forecasting · Preparation of Annual Trade Budget in prescribed format. · Preparation of Monthly Trade Forecast in prescribed format. Trade Strategy · Develop & implement the groups trade strategy in order to maximize sales & profitability. · Deliver to the agreed trade budget/trade forecast. · Provide sales support for excess manufacturing raw material as & when required · Maximize the Group's financial/brand strength, which can be used in strategic alliances with producers/suppliers & customers. Trade Management · Ensure accurate forecasting & monthly sales reporting. · Liaise with appropriate warehouse staff on inventory & supply related matters. · Reduce lead time between the initiation of a procurement action & the receipt of the raw material as much as possible. · Manage custom agents & port operations to ensure smooth clearance of goods at the port in the absence of the logistics manager. · Manage efficient shipment & transport of goods from port to factory in the absence of the logistics manager · Periodic physical stock taking. · Keep track of budgets & ensure the Order-to-Payment cycle is followed strictly. Customer Management · Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, traders & other plastic companies. · Full accountability for customer relationship management. · Resolve issues or problems faced by customers in order to meet customer & business objectives. Procurement Management · Provide support to management on local procurement of manufacturing raw material as & when required. MIS Reporting · Develop a reporting structure to get updates on order balances & collections. · Preparing monthly plan v target. · To ensure rolling targets & cash flow forecast is done accurately. · Manage & compile internal reports, as necessary.
