10 yearsJob Description : Frozen Food Distribution Manager (East Africa) The Frozen Food Distribution Manager will oversee the efficient and timely distribution of frozen poultry products to various locations. The manager will be responsible for leading a team of loading staff and drivers, ensuring that all trucks are loaded accurately and dispatched on time. The manager will also be responsible for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to on-time deliveries, cost per kilogram delivered, pod collection, and minimizing stock shortages. Responsibilities: Manage and lead a team of loading staff and drivers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Coordinate and schedule the loading of trucks to ensure timely departure, considering delivery schedules and product availability. Ensure that all trucks are accurately loaded with the correct products and quantities, following company procedures and quality standards. Monitor and optimize routes to maximize delivery efficiency and minimize costs. Track and report on-time deliveries, analyzing and addressing any delays or issues proactively. Implement and maintain systems to collect proof of delivery (POD) for all deliveries, ensuring accurate and complete records. Collaborate with the warehouse team to manage inventory levels and minimize stock shortages. Develop and maintain relationships with transportation providers, negotiating contracts and rates as needed. Conduct regular performance reviews for loading staff and drivers, identifying training needs and implementing improvement plans. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including food safety, health and safety, and transportation regulations. Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the frozen food industry. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Solid understanding of logistics and distribution processes, including route optimization and inventory management. Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as food safety and transportation regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to distribution management. Valid driver's license and a good driving record. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): On-Time Deliveries: Percentage of deliveries made on time as scheduled. Average time deviation from the planned delivery time. Cost per Kilogram Delivered: Calculation of the cost per kilogram of delivered products. Comparison of the cost per kilogram with the set budget or industry benchmarks.
