Job Summary: As the Sales Head for our Premium Biscuits Business, you will bring your extensive experience and expertise to lead and manage all aspects of sales operations in the Lusaka region. Your role will involve developing and executing strategic sales plans, expanding the customer base, and achieving revenue and market share targets. This position demands an individual with exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of the biscuit market in Africa, and the ability to build and nurture strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities: Sales Strategy and Planning: - Develop a comprehensive sales strategy and action plan to achieve revenue and growth targets in the premium biscuits segment within Lusaka, Zambia. - Identify new business opportunities, potential market segments, and consumer trends to capitalize on emerging sales prospects. - Collaborate with the marketing team to align sales initiatives with brand positioning and promotional campaigns. Team Leadership and Management: - Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing sales team, leveraging your extensive experience to guide and mentor team members. - Set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to drive continuous improvement. Business Development and Customer Relations: - Leverage your established network and expertise to establish and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, retailers, and trade partners in the region. - Proactively seek out new distribution channels and partnerships to expand market reach and enhance sales opportunities. - Participate in high-level customer meetings and negotiations, addressing their needs and concerns to foster long-term partnerships. Sales Forecasting and Reporting: - Utilize your analytical skills to develop accurate sales forecasts, monitor sales performance against targets, and implement corrective actions when necessary. - Generate comprehensive sales reports and presentations for senior management, providing valuable insights and recommendations. Pricing and Margin Management: - Strategically manage product pricing, leveraging your industry knowledge to ensure competitiveness while maintaining healthy profit margins. - Monitor market dynamics and pricing trends to optimize pricing strategies. Export Compliance and Logistics: - Ensure compliance with all export regulations and documentation requirements for the region. - Collaborate closely with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure efficient delivery of products to customers. Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. - Proven experience of 10-15 years in sales and business development, specifically in the premium biscuits industry or a related FMCG sector. - In-depth knowledge of the African biscuit market, with a strong network of industry contacts in Africa would be an added advantage. - Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in the premium biscuit segment. - Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. - Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. - Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of local languages is advantageous. - Willingness to travel as needed within the region. - Age not beyond 40 yrs.
