Job Description : MANUFACTURING DIRECTOR MALAYSIA A world-leading medical device manufacturer is recruiting for a Manufacturing Director job to be based in Johor, Malaysia. The role sits within the senior management team (SMT). The primary responsibility lies in managing all aspects of the plant's manufacturing operations with direct teams in manufacturing production, maintenance, quality control, health, safety and environmental (HSE) and supply chain (materials management and production planning and logistics). The Manufacturing Director's responsibility encompass various areas, including safety, planning, production, quality, inventory management, and capital project implementation. These KPIs serve as benchmarks to gauge the director's performance and the success of the manufacturing operations under their leadership. Lead the plant yearly plan and five-year roadmap towards addressing key customer concern, short and long term capacity, service levels, cost, and quality matters Stay ahead on with global team on new product introductions and ensure that the expansion of multiple new products aligns with new manufacturing platforms and secure funding for growth initiatives Create, align, and monitor goals and budgets for all operating departments to track their performance against the yearly plan Encourage and support performance improvement by promoting manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement, and efficiency. Also, implement technology improvement programs to gain a competitive advantage in manufacturing The successful Manufacturing Director possesses leadership quality to command a large size manufacturing facilities with manpower exceeding 1,000 people. You must have prior experience in leading a regulated sector such as medical device or similar in nature as well as continuously striving for improvement through people for their respective department across the site. At least 15 years' experience in leading manufacturing, preferably in the medical device industry Expertise in continuous improvement, process engineering, manufacturing, and safety Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related field Knowledge of best practices in operations within a process manufacturing environment Strong business acumen and financial understanding related to operational strategies Previous success in driving cultural change Proven track record in operations management and strategic decision-making Ability to create a sense of purpose aligned with customer requirements Collaborative approach with employees, customers, and strategic partners
