Cost Accountant

Job Description : COST ACCOUNTANT UGANDA The Cost Accountant will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing costs related to the manufacturing process, identifying areas for cost reduction, and providing recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability. Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in analyzing costs and providing financial insights to support decision-making within the company This role requires a deep understanding of cost accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve financial goals. Role & Responsibilities · Conduct cost analysis and provide accurate and timely cost reports to management · Analyze manufacturing processes and identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement · Develop and implement cost accounting policies and procedures · Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies · Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives · Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities · Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations · Provide support during audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules · Train and mentor junior cost accounting staff Preferred candidate profile · 8+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry · Educational qualifications: ICWA or CMA certification · Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices · Proficiency in cost analysis and financial reporting · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills · Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software · Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines · Strong attention to detail and accuracy · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Perks and benefits Net Savings $2000 - $2500 + All Expat Benefits
