Job Description : ELECTRICAL AND AUTOMATION MANAGER UGANDA FOR STEEL PLANT Role & responsibilities The role will spearhead complete maintenance for Induction furnace, CCM, AOD, Bar mill, Section mill, wire rod mill etc and will ensure efficient operation of various electrical systems and automation processes within the facility. Role & Responsibilities : 1. Electrical System Management: · Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, motors, and control systems. · Upgrades: Plan and execute electrical system upgrades to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety. · Safety: Ensure that all electrical systems comply with safety regulations and implement safety protocols. 2. Automation and Control Systems: · SCADA and PLCs: Manage supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to control and monitor various processes in the steel plant. · Process Optimization: Work on process optimization by fine-tuning automation systems to achieve production goals efficiently. · Integration: Oversee the integration of new automation technologies and ensure seamless communication between different control systems. 3. Energy Management: · Energy Efficiency: Implement energy-saving measures to reduce electricity consumption and operational costs. · Power Distribution: Manage the distribution of electrical power within the plant to minimize losses and disruptions. · Renewable Energy: Explore and implement renewable energy sources to reduce the carbon footprint of the steel plant. 4. Team Management: · Team Leadership: Lead a team of electrical and automation engineers/technicians, providing guidance and direction for their tasks and projects. · Training: Ensure that the team is well-trained and up-to-date with the latest technologies and safety standards. 5. Budgeting and Cost Control: · Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for electrical and automation projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions. · Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor expenses related to electrical and automation operations. 6. Regulatory Compliance: · Compliance: Ensure that all electrical and automation systems adhere to industry regulations and standards, as well as environmental and safety regulations. 7. Troubleshooting and Emergency Response: · Problem Solving: Quickly diagnose and resolve electrical and automation system issues to minimize downtime. · Emergency Planning: Develop emergency response plans for electrical and automation-related emergencies. 8. Technology Evaluation: · Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in electrical and automation systems and assess their potential benefits for the steel plant. 9. Documentation: · Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of electrical and automation system configurations, maintenance activities, and upgrades. 10. Continuous Improvement: · Continuous Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of electrical and automation systems and implement improvements as needed to enhance efficiency and reliability. Preferred candidate profile · BE Electrical with 10+ years hardcore Maintenance experience with Steel Sector · Knowledge of the processes and equipment required to operate a Steel plant. · Spare & maintenance planning. · Knowledge of rotating as well as non-rotating equipment. · Sound understanding of equipment life cycle. · Complete understanding of Steel Plant operations Perks and benefits Net Tax Free savings in the range of Rs 2.00 - Rs 2.20 lacs pm (Negotiable on current CTC) + Food (Local Salary) + Accommodation + Transport + All Expat Benefits
