Group Tax Accountant 

Job Description : GROUP TAX ACCOUNTANT Must be eligible to work or apply for UK working visa Group Tax Accountant - Manufacturing Company - Huntingdon Cambridgeshire - Circa £50k-£65k plus 15% bonusThis is a permanent role based in their Huntingdon office but supporting up to 3 days remote working. They are looking to hire a Group Tax Accountant who will take ownership of the group’s tax affairs on an international basis (with the support of external tax advisors and finance colleagues), and who will also support on a range of broader finance work, as well as regular finance projects.The role is very varied and covers all areas of tax (corporation tax, indirect tax, international tax, transfer pricing, R&D tax) as well as also getting involved in financial accounting, finance projects, with regular business partnering. As such this offers a fantastic first move into industry, or a great role for someone working in an in-house tax role currently who wants a bit more breadth or progression.Responsibilities include:Tax: • Working with external tax advisors to ensure tax compliance for all group companies and branches globally • Half year UK Corporate Tax evaluation • Half year deferred tax estimates for inclusion in Interim reporting • Preparation of monthly VAT returns for the UK Group • Quarterly tracking of qualifying R&D spend and annual preparation of R&D tax relief • Preparation of current and deferred tax working papers and disclosure notes Financial Statement Preparation: • Support with overall preparation of the Group IFRS financial statements, interim report, and subsidiary FRS 101 annual financial statements, including responsibility for financial statements, accurate notes and disclosures. • Monthly reconciliation of intercompany including resolving unreconciled amounts with counterparties • Regular monitoring of intercompany to ensure that aged balances are settled and transfer pricing agreements in place Treasury: • Assisting with embedding the new Treasury policy throughout the group • Assisting in Managing/tracking FX exposure • Tracking cash reserves and co-ordinating intercompany sweeps Other: • Preparation of other balance sheet reconciliations for PLC legal entity • Drafting of technical accounting memos • Group Finance project work They are willing to consider candidates from part qualified up to 15 years post-qualified experience – Although mixed tax experience would be nice, they are happy to consider candidates with either corporate tax or VAT/indirect tax experience. The position comes with a salary of circa £50k-£65k (dependent on experience) plus a 15% bonus and great benefits package.
