General Manager

Job Description : GM DRC a transport company based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), is seeking an experienced General Manager expat to join their team. Salary and Benefits: Negotiable. Main Responsibilities: Developing and executing plans in alignment with overall business goals. Identifying and evaluating new channels and opportunities for expansion. Building and nurturing relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, and partners. Managing logistics and supply chain activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of cargo. Monitoring and analyzing market trends, competition, and economic factors impacting the business. Ensuring compliance with export regulations, tariffs, and customer requirements across different territories. Optimizing operations by establishing and implementing best practices, standard operating procedures, and performance metrics. Collaborating with internal cross-functional teams, such as finance and marketing, to drive export growth and customer satisfaction. Providing leadership guidance, and support to the operations team, including hiring, training, and performance management. Forecasting sales and revenue, monitoring budg Must be a good team player. Strong leadership skills. Global business acumen and knowledge of international trade laws and regulations are essential for this role. Effective communication and negotiation skills. Problem-solving abilities and a result-oriented mindset are highly valued. Highly organized. Detail oriented Strategic skills to develop the marketing processes. Qualifications: Relevant University Degree/MBA in business-related courses. 10 or more years’ experience in logistics and supply chain experience of which at least 5 need to be in managing positions. Ability to read, write and speak French is advantageous.
