Job Description : HEAD OF PLANT DESIGN MALAYSIA Open to expats A multinational EPCC company is seeking a Head of Plant Design to be part of their top management team. In this job, you will bear a corporate level responsibility to strategically plan, execute, and oversee all aspects of technical and conceptual plant design across the organisation. In this business critical role, you will strategically devise and offer technical guidance, technical proficiency, and advisory services for a variety of industrial projects, with a primary emphasis on pharmaceutical manufacturing and the food and beverage sector. Evaluate current and future prospects in accordance with the company's mission, vision, and trajectory Take the lead in formulating and executing the technical development strategy Conduct risk assessments and offer guidance on optimal technical approaches and solutions Advocate for the integration of valuable technical knowledge and propose alternative technical remedies to meet or surpass client expectations Identify strategic choices, select those to be pursued, and determine the methods for their implementation and support Gain insight into the operational and working practices of international pharmaceutical and bio-engineering companies Examine and evaluate both risks and opportunities and their potential impact on the company Proactively nurture relationships with partners/clients, representing our aligned stance on technical strategy and execution Provide technical counsel to support business development efforts Extend technical support across various practices by defining and positioning offerings Deliver technical seminars and industry training, enhancing the company's visibility through speaking engagements at industry conferences and involvement in local business associations Establish policies and best practices in the technical domain To succeed in this Head of Plant Design role, you must have extensive technical and conceptual design experience in the pharmaceuticals or food and beverage industry. Bachelor's degree in engineering, pharmaceuticals, or a related field while a master's degree is preferred At least 20 years of experience in plant technical and conceptual design in the pharmaceuticals or industry, with at least five years in a management role In-depth knowledge of international pharmaceuticals, biopharma or food plant design and GMP compliance standards Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience leading investigations and developing corrective and preventive actions Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
