Duties include the following, measurable in terms of time, cost, quality or quantity. Strategic Responsibility To ensure daily / weekly service and repair plans are made and achieved with minimum or zero deviation. To plan to manage inventories to achieve high service levels and reduced breakdowns. Day-to-Day Management To supervise day to day workshop operations and ensure jobs are assigned to mechanics and others staff and close monitoring of completion of jobs in time. To evaluate the inventory costs and freight costs associated with transportation to ensure appropriate costs and analyze logistical problems. To have regular input on transport vehicle condition, farming equipments and other related information to plan your costings accordingly. To communicate within departments for planning, administrative and other general management issues, which will include the day-to-day operations and timely dispatch strategy. Customer Relationships - To develop good suppliers, and workshops, and manage good relations to ensure get best prices and services. Operational Targets - To reduce breakdown time to the lowest possible level. To do a root cause analysis for each breakdown with an assessment of preventive and corrective actions. To assess vendor performance who supply parts and do repairs and continue looking for new vendors to increase efficiency. To ensure that processes within the transport run efficiently and smoothly. It includes monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement of fleets. Budget - To prepare and recommend transport budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget to ensure business alignment. Reporting - To prepare all applicable reports in time for accuracy and in order to ensure that they match the functional requirements, policies and standards
