Job Description : GM RETAIL BARBADOS As General Manager, you will be responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization’s overall operations, with ultimate accountability to main stakeholders / shareholders of the business. Job Summary: · As General Manager, you will be responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization’s overall operations, with ultimate accountability to main stakeholders / shareholders of the business. This will include the management of the team, developing growth opportunities and driving profitability in alignment with the identified strategic direction. The role involves a high level of responsibility, with pivotal decision making affecting the future of the company and the team. Job Description: · Drive results in critical functioning areas including – sales, marketing, finance and operations engaging with teams to deliver on targets and capitalize on opportunities. · Maintain awareness of the competitive market landscape, growth opportunities, industry developments, etc. · Provide oversight and direction for the Company’s marketing strategies. · Encourage employee engagement, mentor, and interact with staff at all levels to encourage their growth and development to maintain a high performing team. · Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission. · Develop the company’s annual budget, primary goals, operating plans, policies, and short and long-range objectives for the organization in accordance with the overall Company Strategic Plan. · Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements. · Shape and deliver the customer experience strategy of the company. · Approve credit decisioning. · Represent the organization to the business community, major customers, government agencies, shareholders, and the public. · Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics. Education and Experience Requirements: · A University Degree in a relevant designation. · A master’s degree or advanced certification in the areas of Business Management will be considered an asset. · At least 12 years’ experience in the retail industry at a senior management level. · Demonstrated track record of delivering top line growth and bottom-line performance. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · A focus on delivering a superior experience for our customers. · An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills. · Ability to make informed decisions. · Willingness to take calculated risks. · Excellent detail-orientation and organization skills. · Task delegation and prioritization skills.
