General Manager

Job Description : GM ST MARTEEN FOR AUTO who will be responsible for overseeing the strategic expansion of business interests for a well-established auto dealer headquartered in St Maarten. Department: Auto Extra Reports To: Company Directors Job Summary: The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing the strategic expansion of business interests for a well-established auto dealer headquartered in St Maarten. As such, the role offers the unique opportunity to oversee the development of a new business in Dominica, which will operate as a satellite distributor of auto solutions in the territory. The successful candidate should possess an entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrate a track record of experience in the successful planning, execution, and management of high-volume sales operations. In addition, the provision of strategic leadership, the effective management of resources, and ability to build strategic relationships in a B2B and B2C environment is a direct requirement. 1) Recruit, train, and mentor a close-knit sales team, fostering a competitive sales culture. Set clear performancemanagement criteria. 2) Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives in alignment with the company’s strategic management plan. 3) Identify and tap into market trends that increase market presence. 4) Implement policies and procedures that enhance day-to-day operations. 5) Develop and manage a winning company budget that prioritizes sales growth. 6) Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, addressing customer feedback and concerns promptly. 7) Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies. 8) Foster effective communication and collaboration with other departments and stakeholders. 9) Provide reports and updates to Company Directors. 10) Any other functions as reasonably assigned. Must be self-motivated with high energy level and a strong work ethic. · Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills · Proven ability to work in a team and collaborate with others to establish and achieve goals in a fast-paced environment. · Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain supportive working relationships. · Strong negotiation skills with both internal and external groups · Strong organisational, time management, and multitasking skills. · Proficiency with data management and analysis · Ability to learn and implement various software systems Bachelor's degree in Management Studies or equivalent · Minimum of 15 years out of which 5 years of proven experience in a leadership role, preferably as a General Manager or in a similar capacity. · Retail and/or wholesale industry experience in a technical field (automotive parts industry experience a plus) · Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
