8 yearsJob Description : Director of Financial Reporting GCC Salary 50-55k aed pcm Responsible for overseeing the corporate accounting functions within the finance department. This role involves managing a team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial insights to senior management. This role plays a critical part in providing transparent and reliable financial information to support decision-making within the organization. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. Ensure that financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as applicable for quarterly and annual filings. 2. Disclosure Reporting: Prepare and review MD&A, disclosures and footnotes to financial statements for quarterly and annual filings. Support other aspects of filing process as required. 3. Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant financial reporting requirements. 4. Technical Accounting: Understand and apply accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) including the ability to evaluate accounting topics and prepare memos. Specifically, knowledgeable regarding ASC 205, ASC 326, ASC 360, ASC 606 and ASC 842. 5. Consolidation: Consolidate financial statement from multiple business units or subsidiaries including manual adjustments (topside) to the financials. 6. Month-End and Year-End Close: Coordinate and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Performing analytical reviews of financial information to ensure the information is reliable, accurate, complete, and properly stated 7. PPE: Overseeing the asset management process that includes the accounting, maintenance, and reporting for fixed assets, real and personal property leases, and property taxes. 8. Master Data Management: Maintain the Chart of Accounts for the Accounting organization. 9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, regulatory requirements, including SEC filings (if applicable), and internal policies related to financial reporting. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred. 2. 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, including at least 2-3 years in a director or managerial role. 3. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements. 4. Experience with SEC reporting, SAP, Blackline and familiarity with XBRL tagging is a plus. 5. Strong leadership and team management skills.
