Job Description : Director of Logistics INDUSTRY: Transport and Logistics LOCATION: Lagos RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Develops high-quality business strategies and plans, ensuring their alignment with the short-term and long-term objectives of the company. 2. Proposes high-quality investment opportunities to advance the business and increase profit. 3. Reviews financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements as required for business continuity 4. Enforces adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain Company legality and business ethics. 5. Builds trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact. 6. Oversees operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission. 7. Maintains a deep knowledge of the markets and industry operates. 8. Defines and communicates goals and required alignments to N-1 based on strategic objectives set by General Management. 9. Assesses the performance of N-1 and is responsible for the development of required competencies in N-1 10. Validates recruitment requests issued by N-1 and organises the recruitment of potential N-1 (final validation by the CEO) in collaboration with the HR department 11. Validates regular review of SOPs & Logistics Solutions organisations (at least once a year when budget time). Organisations and SOPs updates are submitted to validation by the different N-1 12. Organises quality audit (internal & external) and follows the execution of corrective actions plans. 13. Builds and adapts the logistics services offered according to the market situation or market anticipation, the organisation’s capacity, profitability, and associated risk level in coordination with the Sales department 14. Manages the relationships with existing and potential top clients 15. Validates complex (technical risk, top client, high return) quotations after first check/contribution of N-1 managers 16. Oversees the Management of project tenders with validation of technical feasibility (means to mobilise, tariffs to apply, projected profitability and related risks). 17. Monitors the general agreement (including quality aspects) with subcontractors at a high level 18. Monitors the subcontractor selection and ensure that Company policy is fully adhered to. 19. Monitors the quality of service delivered to clients (internal as external) 20. Manages the achievement of budgetary goals REQUIREMENTS • University Degree Master’s degree in relevant field (preferred) • At least 15 years experience in a similar role and a minimum of 10 years experience as a Manager • Ability to manage a team of logistics professionals • oversee the procurement of materials and products, so inventory control is an important skill for them • Ability to create schedules for their team, develop budgets and create goals for their department
