GFI is currently recruiting for a Trader, Middle East and North Africa (“MENAâ€). Working from our Toronto office, the successful candidate will be responsible for selling specialty crops and pulses throughout the MENA region. Responsibilities • Selling pulses and specialty crops into MENA markets from GFI’s North and South American origins, with an emphasis on products originated from GFI’s farm-based procurement in Canada, the US and Mexico • Building and maintaining relationships with customers • Negotiating terms of sale with customers • Preparing sales contracts and following the execution of contracts by the Supply Chain team • Meeting annual sales targets as defined by the Company • Providing high quality customer service and support. This includes communicating any issues to counterparties and resolving customer complaints • Monitoring global market trends to maximize sales opportunities • Continuously providing market information and feedback to the rest of the Trade/Procurement team • Assisting management with planning and budgeting • Travelling for trade shows, conferences and other events (once it is safe to do so) • Other responsibilities as required or assigned Qualifications • 15+ years of experience and knowledge in international sales and trade • Agricultural commodities experience is an asset • Fluency in both English and Arabic is required • Fluency in French and/or Turkish is an asset • Post-secondary education in business or similar field • Reliable, ethical and professional • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Proven ability to develop effective working relationships • Able to work independently, within company policies and guidelines • Performance-driven • Proven ability to take initiative and problem-solve • Strong attention to detail • Strong organizational and planning skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Willingness to travel for trade shows, conferences and other events
