Job Description : HEAD TECHNICAL SERVICE AND PROJECTS NIGERIA Petrochemical Company Exp : 25+ yrs and above Education BE Chemical ME Chemical Discipline : Chemical Engineering with process engineering & operation background Experience : Leading process engineering/projects in large Petrochemicals especially Cracker (NGL/ Naphtha/ Gas), Polymer, Power plant & utilities OR leading process engineering /projects in a Process Engineering/Design Firm Experience in Years : 25 Years & above Candidates should have hands-on experience in process engineering, monitoring & trouble shooting of critical process loops/ equipment in Cracker, Polymer plants, Power plant/ utilities and handling of projects, major process improvements from idea to implementation, commissioning, start-up, and handover. He shall extensive hands on knowledge on process simulation software such as HYSIS, ASPEN etc. The Candidates are expected to be fluent in written and spoken English in addition to be proficient in MS-Office . Good presentation skills are required for the job. A. Reporting Reports Directly to Technical Head of Petrochemical Unit B. Job Knowledge: Head TS&P Possess extensive & up to date knowledge process engineering, process simulation, monitoring systems & practices in industrial plants such Olefins, Polyethylene, Poly propylene, Butene-1, Power plant & utilities, large Petrochemical storage & tank farm (Ethylene, Propylene, NGL, Butene-1, Cyclohexane, C5+, AGO, Acid etc. storage tanks), product/chemical/material warehouses etc.. Have good in-depth knowledge of international standards & best practices followed in these critical plants Possess leadership qualities, capability & ability to lead TS&P team in continual improvement of systems & practices in place, lead team in implementation of various process improvements & projects, Debottlenecking schemes that are required in a large petrochemical complex from time to time. C. Duties & Responsibilities: Day to day process monitoring & troubleshooting of process plants & equipment: Supervise and monitor routine Technical Services activities of sub-ordinates attached to Olefins /PE/PP/ Power generation and Utilities plants and liaise with the HODs of other Departments/Functions Resource planning: Provide resource required for TS&P department to carry out their normal functions efficiently. Budget preparations: Departmental Budget Preparation and monitoring New process improvements/projects: Review and Approval of Technical documents, Engineering Documents / Drawings related to ongoing modifications /New projects. Shall lead process engineering directly with the detailed engineering contractor Review of FIR and preparations of FARs: Review and approve process/equipment Failure/Shutdown Analysis carried out by department personnel Management of change: Review and approve Management of Change requests by plants as per documented procedures Liaison with licensors/OEM/vendors/Consultanat: Interface between Company and other Licensors/Consultants /Detailed engineering companies parties on Technical Issues (Process / Projects) Feasibility & DBN studies: Initiate and review Feasibility studies for medium and large projects, ITB/Tender review, Licensor Technology / detailed Engineering company qualification HAZOP & SIL studies: Facilitate P&ID review and HAZOP /SIL studies as required. Spearhead HAZOPs for all internal process improvements and MOC.s Material balance/TIC for new projects: Prepare Material balance summaries, TIC (cost estimates) for new projects, modifications
