Warehouse Manager

Job Description : WAREHOUSE MANAGER MALAWI Oversee day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping of goods. Monitor and optimize warehouse layouts and storage systems to maximize space utilization. Implement inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies, losses, and stockouts. Conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy. Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff, including supervisors, pickers, packers, and forklift operators. Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and ensure productivity and safety. Health and Safety Compliance Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and the use of personal protective equipment PPE. Conduct safety training and inspections. Collaborate with suppliers on receiving and quality control processes. Coordinate with customer service and sales teams to meet customer delivery expectations. Develop and manage the warehouse budget, optimizing costs related to labor, equipment, and maintenance. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-effective strategies. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and technology tools for inventory tracking, order processing, and reporting. Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues. Continuously assess and enhance warehouse processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. Implement Lean and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste. Competencies In-depth knowledge of warehousing principles, best practices, and industry standards in inventory management, inbound and outbound logistics. Proficiency in inventory control techniques, including FIFO/LIFO, and safety stock management. Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate warehouse staff. Understanding of safety regulations and the ability to enforce safety protocols. Ability to identify and resolve operational challenges efficiently using robust analytical skills. Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers. Financial acumen to manage the warehouse budget effectively. Performance Measures Measure the variance between physical and recorded inventory levels. Zero stock and inventory variances Ensure stock count accuracy, physical vs system. Identify and rationalized transportation cost and manpower by initiating automation initiatives Monitor the percentage of customer orders fulfilled accurately and on time. Assess the adherence to budget and cost-saving initiatives. Evaluate warehouse productivity and throughput. Collect feedback and assess satisfaction levels of customers.
